James died in Vietnam, August 1966. He was assigned to the 8th Engineer Bn, 1 Cavalry Division. James and I entered the army together in May 1965. We had been friends since the 8th grade.
Pat, thanks for sharing your information. Yes, James was such a likelable guy. We had several classes together in school. I am so proud of all of you guys who have served our country.
Thank you for your comments. There is another soldier that would have been in the class of 64, but he joined the army in the summer of 63. I am sure you all remember David Able, David was killed in Vietnam, Aug 67. SSG Able was awarded the Silver Star for bravery.

Today marks the 48th year since James was killed in Vietnam. Let us all say a silent prayer today for all the men and women who died in that war.
